Support Workers – Complex Support | SIL

Location: Werribee

Ambition Health Group is seeking experienced and compassionate Support Workers to join our team and provide high-quality support to an adult living in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment.

This is a rewarding chance for experienced support workers who are confident supporting individuals with complex support needs, communication difficulties, anxiety, sensory sensitivities and behaviours of concern.

We are looking for people who understand that great support starts with patience, consistency, respect and emotional regulation.

About the role

You will provide person-centred support tailored to the individual's needs, preferences and goals. Your role will involve creating a safe, predictable and respectful environment while supporting daily living, independence, community participation and overall wellbeing.

You will be required to:

- Provide high-quality, person-centred support within a SIL environment.

- Support an individual with complex support needs, communication difficulties, anxiety and sensory sensitivities.

- Respond appropriately and calmly to behaviours of concern.

- Use proactive strategies to support emotional regulation and reduce escalation.

- Apply effective de-escalation and positive behaviour support strategies.

- Follow individual support plans, behaviour support strategies and organisational procedures.

- Support daily living activities and promote independence and choice.

- Build a trusting and respectful relationship through consistency and reliability.

- Recognise changes in presentation, behaviour or wellbeing and communicate concerns appropriately.

- Maintain accurate documentation,



progress notes and incident reporting as required.

- Work collaboratively with other Support Workers, coordinators, clinicians and relevant stakeholders.

- Maintain professional boundaries and uphold the individual's dignity, privacy and rights at all times.

About you

This role is best suited to someone who is calm, patient, emotionally regulated and genuinely compassionate.

You will ideally have

- Previous experience supporting people with complex support needs.

- Experience working with behaviours of concern.

- Confidence using de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies.

- Previous SIL experience — highly desirable.

- Experience supporting people with communication difficulties and sensory sensitivities.

- The ability to remain calm and respectful during challenging situations.

- Excellent patience, empathy and emotional awareness.

- A consistent and reliable approach to support.

- Strong communication and documentation skills.

- The ability to follow support plans and work within established processes.

- A genuine commitment to person-centred support and promoting independence.

Essential requirements

- Previous experience in disability or community support.

- Demonstrated experience with complex support needs.

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

- Working with Children Check, where applicable.

- Current First Aid and CPR.

- Relevant qualifications such as Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or equivalent are highly regarded.

- Availability to work a range of shifts, including weekends and/or public holidays as required.
