We are seeking enthusiastic people who are passionate about supporting people with disabilities. We provide a variety of support services which include our supported independent living, individualised support services and group support.
Our Supported Independent Living and Individualised Supports involves providing in house activities, community access for people with disabilities as well as in home skill development. Support workers may be required to perform personal care tasks where requested.
Group Supports provide the opportunities for adults and children to build on life skills such as cooking, self-advocacy, art, learning to live and travel independently, increasing health and wellbeing, sport and fitness, vocational skills and technology. Group supports also provide the opportunity for recreational activities.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain positive relationships with participants, families, supporters and the wider community
- Write effective notes after shifts on the data management system to provide accurate documentation of supports and activities
- Carry out designated duties and tasks as per participants Individual Support Plan, Positive Support Plans, health plans, NDIS plans, mental health plans and other reasonable duties as required and in response to changing circumstances
- Work independently, identify and problem solve
About you
- Available to work flexible schedule 6 am until 11pm, including sleepovers and weekends
- Have common sense, good time management and communication skills
- Have great interpersonal skills
- Hold a current NDIS Workers Screening Check
- Completed NDIS Worker Orientation module
- Hold a current Working with children (WWC card)
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Certificate IV in Disability / Age Care or studying toward other relevant qualification (desirable)
- First Aid and CPR certificate (desirable)
- Valid driver's licence (desirable)
