Megavar Power Engineering is a niche provider of engineering services to the high voltage (HV) power industry. Megavar’s portfolio of services includes design, commissioning, construction, condition monitoring, asset maintenance and equipment rentals. Megavar has offices in Tasmania, Newcastle and Adelaide. Megavar’s client base now consists of two main categories, power utilities and HV customers.

The position;

We are currently seeking applications from HV distribution designers to join our current design team in delivering reliable and high-quality designs. The role will require some occasional travel within the state to undertake design survey using our Trimble R10.

Qualifications required

Desirable for Applicants;

o Certificate IV in ESI-Power Systems Design o Overhead / Underground Design certifications o Advanced Diploma of Applied Electrical Engineering

Distribution Design experience with the following are required;

- Underground and overhead distribution network
- Switchgear
- Substation installations
- Ground line profiling
- Quality Assurance Reviews
- Working knowledge of various Australian Standards including AS/NZS 7000, AS 2067 and AS/NZS 3000
- Planning and reporting skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to think logically and to use initiative in identifying and solving problems
- Must hold a current Driver’s Licence
