Are you an experienced Early Childhood Teacher ready to step into a role where your leadership, teaching expertise and passion for children can make a real difference?
Emali Early Learning Salisbury is looking for a passionate and experienced Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) to lead our Flying Start Program while taking an active leadership role within the room.
This is an opportunity for an ECT who is confident leading a team, creating a high-quality educational program and mentoring educators to deliver meaningful learning experiences for children.
You won't just be delivering a program you'll be leading it.
Location: Salisbury
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30am–6:30pm
Position: Full-time
Qualification: Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent ACECQA-approved qualification
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander educators are strongly encouraged to apply.
About the Role
As our Flying Start Lead ECT, you will play a key role in leading the educational program and supporting the team to deliver high-quality care.
You will
- Lead and implement Emali's Flying Start Program, supporting children to build the skills, confidence and development.
- Lead the room and provide clear direction, guidance and support to educators
- Develop and deliver a high-quality, play-based educational program aligned with the EYLF and National Quality Framework
- Mentor educators and build their confidence in intentional teaching, programming and reflective practice
- Create engaging learning environments that encourage curiosity
- Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families and the wider centre community
- Lead observations, documentation, planning and critical reflection
- Work collaboratively with the Centre Director and leadership team to continuously improve educational outcomes
- Role model strong professional practice, communication and Emali's values
- Support a culture where educators feel confident, connected and empowered to grow
Child Safety & Child Protection Responsibilities

- Actively promote a culture where children feel safe, heard and respected
- Understand and comply with mandatory reporting obligations under South Australian legislation
- Identify and respond appropriately to concerns regarding child wellbeing, abuse or neglect
- Follow all child protection policies, procedures and reporting processes
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and model respectful behaviour at all times
- Support other educators to understand and implement child safe practices
- Ensure daily practices, environments and supervision strategies minimise risk and promote child safety
About You
We're looking for an ECT who brings both teaching expertise and leadership capability.
You will have
- An ACECQA-approved Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent qualification
- Current South Australian teacher registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia
- Experience working as an Early Childhood Teacher
- Experience leading a room, program or team, or demonstrated readiness to take on a significant leadership opportunity
- Strong knowledge of the EYLF, NQS and National Quality Framework
- Confidence leading programming, documentation, intentional teaching and reflective practice
- A genuine passion for school readiness and supporting children as they prepare for their next chapter
- The ability to mentor and inspire educators through modelling and coaching
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A cooperative, positive and growth-focused approach
- Completion of federally mandated National Child Safe Training
- A current Working with Children Check
