About Us

Ngutu College is an independent, not-for-profit, socially just college on Kaurna Country in Woodville North, South Australia. Aboriginal Cultures are our soul, young people are our heart, and the Arts are our backbone. Our learning programs weave Aboriginal knowledges together with the formal curriculum in an experiential environment, in collaboration with Kaurna Elders and community leaders.

Our classrooms are designed with the Reggio Emilia approach in mind, with the setting as the third teacher, and child-led learning.

About the Role

You will develop and deliver engaging, inclusive and culturally responsive programs for our Kindy and Reception learners in the Madlurta learning community. Working alongside other teachers and classroom support officers (SSOs), you will support children's holistic development through play-based, inquiry-driven and experiential learning that integrates Aboriginal knowledges, creativity, and early literacy and numeracy.

The focus will be on:

- fostering wellbeing, belonging and a strong sense of identity and agency for every child
- planning, delivering and assessing learning aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and Australian Curriculum
- gathering learning evidence, including children's voices, to shape individual and group learning pathways

- building trusting partnerships with families and community, including smooth transitions into, within and beyond the early years
- contributing to our college community.

About You

You can articulate your philosophical and pedagogical alignment with Ngutu and genuinely believe children are competent and capable. You bring a specialist focus on Early Years learning, and you are creative, adaptable, reflective and collegial.

We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
