Our client is an established Australian retailer with a strong network of stores and a growing online presence. They're a business where decisions happen quickly and the person leading eCommerce has genuine influence over where the company goes next.
They're now seeking an eCommerce Manager to take the reins of their online channel. Reporting straight into the CEO, you'll shape the strategy, own the numbers and stay close to the detail of how things run. If you've been looking for the breadth and visibility that larger organisations rarely offer, this is it.
The opportunity
This isn't a role confined to one lane. You'll move between big-picture planning and hands-on problem solving, often in the same day:
- Shape the annual plan: put forward the yearly eCommerce strategy and budget, spanning marketing, fulfilment, logistics and warehousing, agree it with the CEO, then steer it through the year with a close eye on profitability.
- Lead a capable team: guide a four-person offshore team, spanning customer service, marketplace and web design, while keeping fulfilment running smoothly
- Get the most from partners:
direct the digital marketing agency and control the budget, holding them to clear performance outcomes, in partnership with the in-house Marketing Manager
- Drive the tech roadmap: run a busy calendar of Shopify and systems projects with external developers, from scoping through to launch
- Be a voice in the room: build trust with senior leadership and the board, and bring forward ideas that move the business forward.
About you
You're a well-rounded e-commerce leader who's as comfortable with a spreadsheet as with a project plan or an agency brief. You'll likely have:
- A solid track record running an e-commerce channel, ideally with responsibility for a P&L;
- Robust Shopify experience and enough technical depth to lead projects confidently with developers
- Proven project management skills, with a history of delivering on time and on budget
- Experience managing agencies and marketing budgets with a focus on results
- Experience leading teams, with offshore or remote team management a real plus
- The confidence to influence senior stakeholders and back your thinking with data
