Employment & Industrial Relations Lawyer
Elevate is seeking an experienced Employment & Industrial Relations Lawyer to support a leading Australian energy firm on a 6+ Month assignment. The successful candidate will join a high-performing in-house legal team and work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, providing strategic employment, industrial relations, and workplace relations advice in a dynamic and complex environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal advice on employment, industrial relations, and workplace relations matters.
- Advise on complex people-related issues arising across the business.
- Support the management of psychosocial risk and workplace conduct matters.
- Manage and advise on employment-related disputes, claims, and litigation.
- Conduct and support workplace and internal investigations.
- Provide legal guidance on whistleblower matters and associated risk issues.
- Partner with HR, People & Culture, and business leaders to deliver commercially focused legal solutions.
- Support compliance with applicable employment and workplace legislation.
Required Experience
- Minimum 8 years' Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).
- Strong experience in:
- Employment Law/ Industrial Relations / Workplace Relations / Employee Relations
- Demonstrated experience managing employment litigation, disputes, and claims.
- Experience conducting or advising on workplace investigations.
- Experience advising on whistleblower matters and workplace conduct issues.
- Ability to provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice in a quick-paced corporate environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Candidates from the following backgrounds would be particularly relevant:
- Employment & Industrial Relations teams within top-tier or mid-tier law firms.
- In-house Employment Counsel, Senior Legal Counsel, or Workplace Relations Counsel positions.
- Workplace Relations specialists with significant corporate advisory experience.
- Lawyers with experience in Fair Work matters, enterprise bargaining, workplace investigations, and employment disputes.
