We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead multidisciplinary design teams and drive engineering excellence across complex project and tender environments.

The Opportunity

As Engineering Manager, you will be accountable for the planning, coordination and delivery of engineering and design activities across major projects and tenders. You will provide technical leadership, manage stakeholder relationships and ensure designs are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual, commercial and regulatory requirements.

Working closely with Project Managers, construction teams, consultants and clients, you will play a critical role in ensuring engineering outcomes support successful project delivery from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage multidisciplinary design teams across major projects and tenders.
- Develop and implement Engineering and Design Management Plans.
- Ensure designs are coordinated, compliant, constructible and aligned with project objectives.
- Manage design programs, deliverables, budgets and consultant performance.
- Drive technical innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support procurement, construction and commissioning teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with Australian standards, client specifications and regulatory requirements.




- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, authorities and internal stakeholders.
- Mentor, coach and develop Design Managers, Design Coordinators and broader engineering teams.
- Contribute to tender preparation, engineering estimates and bid strategy development.

About You

You are a collaborative and commercially minded engineering leader with a proven track record delivering complex infrastructure, utilities, transport, energy or construction projects.

You will bring

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Eligibility for Member grade of Engineers Australia.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering and design teams on large-scale projects.
- Solid stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
- Excellent commercial, risk and contract awareness.
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation and decision-making skills.
- Current driver's licence.

Desirable

- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
- Membership of Engineers Australia.
- Active involvement in relevant professional industry bodies.
