About The Team/About The Role The Performance &

- Evaluation team comprises experienced evaluators who design and conduct mixed method evaluations in partnership with subject matter experts from Cancer Information and Support Services and Cancer Prevention &
- Advocacy. We are seeking an enthusiastic evaluator with:

- Awareness of a range of evaluation methodologies
- Understanding of research design
- Experience conducting literature reviews/evidence synthesis activities or a willingness to learn
- A collaborative attitude that thrives in a busy environment

Reporting to the Performance and Evaluation Lead, and working alongside the Senior Evaluation Specialists, the primary purpose of the Evaluation Research Officer is to contribute to the development of evaluation plans for cancer control activities by conducting literature reviews. Please note this is a 12 month Parental leave role, we are open to both full-time and part time applicants.

Key responsibilities of the role:

- Collaborate with Senior Evaluation Specialists to develop evaluation plans and search strategies including the identification of appropriate tools, and external benchmarking data.
- Independently conduct database searches, manage citations in Zotero, screen studies for relevance, extract and analyse data, and prepare evidence synthesis summaries.
- Provide administrative, operational, and evaluation support to members of the Performance and Evaluation Team.
- Maintain high quality documentation including compliance with privacy and data retention policies.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings with key stakeholders and evaluation working groups to support evaluation activities.
- Contribute to the development of evaluation reports, insights, and dissemination materials for diverse audiences.
- Support the delivery of evaluation capacity-building initiatives,



including workshops, resource development, and individual coaching and mentoring sessions.

About you:

Essential:

- A tertiary qualification in public health, social science or psychology or a similar discipline.
- An interest in developing evaluation skills and experience.
- Understanding of cancer control, evaluation methodologies and research design.
- Demonstrated organisational and communication skills (both written and oral); including well-developed time management abilities.
- Competence in MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Sharepoint.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of attention to detail.

Desirable:

- Experience conducting literature reviews and utilizing bibliographic management software (e.g., Endnote, Zotero)
- A post-graduate or honours qualification that required completion of a literature review
