About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker with robust experience supporting non‑verbal autistic young clients. The ideal candidate will be patient, proactive, and confident using alternative communication methods to build trust and deliver person‑centred care.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide individualised support to non‑verbal autistic young clients in their daily routines
- Use alternative communication tools such as visual aids, gestures, and communication devices
- Support clients with personal care, emotional regulation, and behavioural needs
- Implement structured routines and sensory‑friendly strategies
- Assist with community access, social engagement, and skill‑building activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes
- Work collaboratively with families, therapists, and support coordinators

Skills & Experience





- Experience working with non‑verbal autistic children or young people
- Strong understanding of autism, sensory needs, and behaviour support
- Ability to use alternative communication methods
- Excellent patience, empathy, and communication skills
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid & CPR
- Valid driver’s licence (preferred)
