About the Role:

This is a senior, client-facing role suited to an experienced bookkeeper who can confidently manage a portfolio of clients, communicate proactively, and deliver accurate work across core bookkeeping, payroll and compliance functions.

You will be responsible for managing client work to a high standard, identifying issues early, asking the right questions, and helping clients feel supported and informed at every step.

Key Responsibilities:

- Managing a portfolio of bookkeeping clients with confidence and ownership
- Building trusted client relationships through proactive and professional communication
- Full-function bookkeeping: accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and payroll services
- Preparing end-of-month balance sheet reconciliations
- BAS and IAS preparation and lodgement
- Managing STP, superannuation, payroll tax and TPAR reporting where applicable
- Preparing management reports and supporting clients to understand their numbers
- Liaising with the ATO and other regulatory bodies as required
- Working across Xero, MYOB and other accounting and business systems
- Identifying process improvements and supporting clients with better systems and workflows
- Working collaboratively with the Beam team to deliver consistent, high-quality service

About You:

We Are Looking for Someone Who Has:

- Solid experience in bookkeeping, payroll or small practice accounting
- Strong knowledge of Xero and MYOB or other accounting software experience highly regarded.
- Experience preparing BAS and IAS
- Strong payroll knowledge including STP and superannuation obligations
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple clients
- Confidence communicating with clients in a clear, professional and supportive way
- Strong problem-solving skills and a solution-focused mindset
- The ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment
- A positive, proactive and growth-focused attitude
- Confidence learning and using technology, apps and cloud-based systems
- A Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting, or equivalent relevant experience

You Will Stand Out If You Also Have:

- Experience managing multiple client files simultaneously
- Payroll tax experience
- Experience with clients in clubs, hospitality, medical, trades or professional services
- Familiarity with Xero ecosystem apps such as Dext, Employment Hero, Deputy or similar.
- Experience with end-of-month workpapers and balance sheet reconciliations
- A track record of supporting clients with process improvements and system efficiencies The Type of person Who Will Thrive at Beam:
