Araluen Botanic Park is seeking an experienced and hands-on Facilities Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance, reliability and presentation of the Park’s diverse buildings, infrastructure and visitor facilities.

This is an exciting chance for an organised and practical maintenance professional who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and delivering high standards across a varied asset portfolio. Reporting directly to the Director, you will play a key role in ensuring the Park remains safe, functional, welcoming and operational for visitors, staff and the wider community.

About the role

As the Facilities Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering maintenance activities across the Park's physical assets. You will oversee preventative and reactive maintenance programs, manage contractors and specialist trades, coordinate minor capital works projects and provide strategic advice on asset condition and maintenance priorities. This role offers autonomy, variety and the opportunity to contribute directly to the long-term sustainability and presentation of one of Western Australia's most valued visitor attractions.

Key responsibilities

- Develop and manage preventative and planned maintenance programs.

- Coordinate reactive maintenance works, renewals and minor capital projects.

- Inspect assets and prioritise maintenance activities based on safety, risk and operational requirements.

- Manage maintenance projects from planning and procurement through to completion.

- Prepare scopes of work, schedules, quotations and project documentation.

- Coordinate and supervise contractors, consultants and specialist trades.





- Assess quotations and provide recommendations to the Director.

- Monitor project delivery, contractor performance, quality, budgets and timeframes.

- Manage maintenance expenditure, purchase orders, invoices and budgets.

- Maintain accurate asset, inspection, defect and maintenance records.

About you

- Experience in facilities management, maintenance management, asset management or property services.

- Demonstrated experience managing contractors and specialist trades.

- Strong planning, organisation and asset record management skills.

- Sound knowledge of workplace health, safety and risk management principles.

- Experience managing budgets, purchasing processes, quotations and invoices.

- The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Competent IT skills and experience maintaining digital records and asset information.

- A customer-focused approach with a commitment to service excellence.

- A practical, solutions-focused mindset and a strong attention to detail.
