Facilities & Maintenance Manager
Are you a hands-on facilities professional who enjoys both managing and doing?
At Ronald McDonald House WA, our Houses provide a home away from home for families with seriously ill or injured children. Behind every comfortable room, welcoming space and secure environment is a well-maintained facility.
We are looking for someone with a trade, facilities and property management background who can oversee preventative and reactive maintenance, ensure compliance and contractor performance, and coordinate site improvements. Equally important, you will be comfortable picking up the tools and completing minor maintenance works when required.
If you are practical, proactive and take pride in creating safe, well-maintained environments, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support Western Australian families through your expertise while working for a respected not-for-profit organisation.
The Role
Reporting to the Executive Manager, Operations & Facilities, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, presentation and operational performance of Ronald McDonald House WA facilities.
You will oversee preventative and reactive maintenance programs, manage contractors and service providers, coordinate building compliance requirements, support capital works projects and ensure our facilities remain safe, functional and welcoming for the families who depend on them.
This is a varied role that combines practical maintenance skills with facilities management responsibility. No two days are the same.
What You'll Be Doing
- Maintenance & Building Operations
- Contractor & Service Provider Management
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Site Standards & Continuous Improvement
- Asset & Capital Works Management
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who is practical, organised and genuinely enjoys looking after buildings and facilities.
You will ideally have:
· A trade qualification, maintenance background, handyman experience, or significant practical experience in building maintenance and facilities management.
· Experience coordinating preventative and cyclical maintenance programs.
· Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices and workplace safety requirements.
· Demonstrated experience managing contractors, suppliers and service providers.
- Sound organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage competing demands.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A current driver's licence.
- The ability to obtain and maintain relevant child safety screening requirements.
