The Role
Reporting to the Area Operations Manager, you will actively support operations management to deliver daily production plans safely and successfully in accordance with company’s values, legislation and HSEQ procedures.
In this role, you’ll use your strong teamwork and relationship skills to engage with key stakeholders and help build a high-performing, continuously improving culture. You’ll play a hands-on leadership role, supporting your team through rostering, training, hiring, and performance management while mentoring them to deliver safe and efficient results. With a genuine passion for helping others succeed, you’ll also contribute to training site personnel in key operational and HSEQ areas where needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support underground explosive operations across multiple customer sites, including Underground MPU Operators, Underground Drivers, DynoMiner profile & Evo units. *there is also scope to look after Surface Operations.
- Coordinate field activities including breakdown response, preventative maintenance and major servicing schedules
- Manage bulk emulsion inventory and stock control across multiple underground operations
- Lead safe execution of charging, blasting and explosive delivery activities in accordance with HSEQ requirements
- Support workforce capability through coaching, training and leadership of operational personnel
What You'll Bring
- Significant operational experience within underground mining, explosives, charge-up blast operations
- Demonstrated leadership experience supervising crews in a production environment
- Solid underground charge-up experience across both development and production blasting
- Strong understanding of mining legislation, incident investigations and risk management processes
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and team leadership skills
- Ability to work autonomously across multiple sites and support a geographically dispersed workforce
Highly Regarded
- Knowledge of drill and blast design and methodologies
- Experience in bulk explosive delivery systems and on-bench blasting
- Current Site Supervisor Qualification (S26)
- DG Security Card and DG Driver's Licence
- HR Licence (Manual Synchromesh)
- National Police Clearance
