About the role The Finance Manager will provide leadership and strategic direction to the local finance team, overseeing project administration, accounts receivable and payable, payroll preparation, and general accounting functions. This key role will ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial operations, driving informed decision-making and business growth. As a strategic business partner, the Finance Manager will analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide recommendations to management to inform strategic decision-making. They will develop and implement financial planning and budgeting processes to support business growth and development, ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategy.

The Finance

Manager will lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities to ensure the team's continued growth and success.

Key responsibilities

- Ensure project financial records are accurate and up-to-date using ERP
- Review and approve project administration files, including job numbers, project cash flow, and costing, profitability, and information reports
- Prepare project budgeting, planning, and forecasting reports for review by the National Finance team and Directors
- Analyse financial information and summarise financial status of projects, reporting to the National Finance Lead and studio Directors
- Coordinate project invoicing and revenue recognition with project leads and branch accountant
- Oversee the management and maintenance of accurate and up-to-date accounts receivable records, including invoicing clients and subconsultants and payment tracking
- Oversee and review the processing and reconciliation of accounts payable, including supplier invoices and payments
- Prepare fortnightly payroll summary and provide support to employees and management with payroll-related queries
- Manage month-end and year-end accounts close process,



including preparing financial data for processing by the national finance team
- Provide leadership and guidance to finance team members, including training and development

About you

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- CPA or CA qualification highly desirable
- 6+ years of experience in accounting or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Proven ability in financial accounting principles and practices, including financial statement preparation and analysis
- Proven ability in management accounting principles and practices, including budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and financial reporting
- Experienced in maintaining accurate and up-to-date project financial records using accounting software such as Deltek Vantagepoint
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite – specially MS Excel (Basic formulae, Lookup, Pivot tables)
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations, including tax and superannuation requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate financial information into transparent, audience-appropriate insights
- Proven leadership capability, providing direction, coaching, and support to team members to achieve business objectives
