About the role

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead LGAT's day-to-day financial management and corporate governance as part of our small, collaborative team.

About you

You are an experienced finance professional with strong capability across end-to-end financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, compliance, internal controls and management reporting. You combine sound judgement and analytical skills with the ability to translate financial information into transparent, practical advice for non-financial audiences. You are confident using accounting software, spreadsheets and Microsoft 365, and enjoy improving systems, processes and reporting in a small, purpose-driven organisation.

We are the peak body for local government in Tasmania. Our role is to support, advocate for and represent the local government sector,



so our 29 council members can best serve their communities.

We look after our people, supporting and rewarding them. Annual leave is five weeks plus a Christmas/New Year shutdown, as well as generous superannuation and long service leave provisions. We respect that work is part of your life, not your life. Most staff work off-site a few days a week, and those with kids have flexible arrangements for pick-ups, drop-offs and events.
