Our client is an established Australian experiential media and construction business specialising in the design, fabrication and delivery of high-impact physical environments, sets and brand experiences.

The Role

You will be supported by the external accountant & bookkeeper, however the idea is that you will be proactive in taking the right tasks in-house, then build on that to support the COO with meaningful insights.

Position Overview

- Own the end-to-end finance function across business entities, including AP, AR, payroll, BAS/IAS and month-end close

- Partner with the Bookkeeper and external Accountants to ensure accurate, timely and well-controlled financial operations

- Own weekly cash flow forecasting and continue developing the existing AI-enabled forecasting system

- Prepare monthly management accounts and dashboards, providing commercial insight to the COO and leadership team

- Oversee financial performance across ~150 projects annually,



including budgets, revenue, costs, margins, cash flow and invoicing

- Identify margin risks and project profitability issues early, improving job costing, WIP and progress billing processes

- Maintain clean, accurate financial and project data and a well-controlled Xero environment

- Drive process improvement, automation and AI initiatives to support efficiency and scalable growth

Your Background

Key requirements for this role are:

- Qualified accountant (CA/CPA or similar) ideally you are currently at Finance Manager /Company Accountant level or similar

- You have worked in an SME type environment and have demonstrated the ability to roll up your financial sleeves to support the business with all levels of tasks.

- Experience in a project-based build environment - joinery, shopfitting, display, fabrication, construction or media/advertising.

- Strong grasp of job costing, WIP accounting and project margin analysis.

- Enthusiastic, ambitious and someone who can grow with the business

- High attention to detail with a practical, get-it-done mindset’
