Finance Processing Officer| Full time | Hybrid Working Arrangements

The Queensland Synod of the Uniting Church is seeking a friendly, service-oriented Finance Processing Officer to join our Finance team. In this role, you'll be a trusted point of contact for colleagues across the Synod Office, Enterprises and Uniting Early Learning, providing responsive support and ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. Your ability to build positive relationships and deliver exceptional customer service will be just as important as your attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Coordinate end-to-end accounts payable processing
- Process vendor invoices, payment runs and financial transactions accurately and within agreed timeframes
- Maintain vendor records, including banking, taxation and contact details
- Complete weekly payment runs and reconciles corporate credit card transactions
- Process fringe benefit claims, stipend journals and standing payments
- Ensure all supporting documentation meets audit and compliance requirements
- Support ministers, cardholders and other stakeholders with webexpenses and claims queries
- Respond to accounts payable enquiries professionally and promptly
- Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes and controls
Accounts Receivable
- Process invoices, receipts and direct debits accurately
- Maintain customer account records and supporting documentation
- Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up overdue payments
- Process customer refunds across Synod entities and enterprise customers
- Escalate unresolved matters and data quality issues as required
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Previous experience in accounts payable,
accounts receivable or financial administration
- Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail when processing high-volume transactions
- Strong reconciliation and record-keeping skills
- Experience using finance and expense management systems
- Sound understanding of GST, financial controls, compliance requirements and accounting processes
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- The ability to work collaboratively while managing competing priorities
