Our client is a well-regarded Financial Services business looking for a hands-on accountant to join their finance team. This is a role for someone who likes doing the work: you'll own the numbers from processing through to month-end rather than reviewing someone else's.
What you'll be doing
- Month-end close, including journals, accruals and prepayments
- Balance sheet and bank reconciliations
- Supporting AP and AR processing when the team needs it
- BAS, payroll tax and other compliance lodgements
- Preparing management reports and supporting the year-end audit
- Picking up whatever needs doing when deadlines are tight
What you'll bring
- A hands-on accounting background, either in industry or in professional services on the preparation side (outsourced accounting, business services or similar). This role suits someone who has prepared the accounts rather than audited them.
- Solid reconciliation and month-end experience
- CA or CPA qualified, or working towards it
- Solid Excel skills
- A practical, get-it-done attitude. Nothing is beneath you, and you take pride in getting the detail right.
