Eager to maintain their quality service delivery, the firm are now seeking an Adviser to manage an established client portfolio, building trusted professional relationships both with clients, other advisers and key stakeholders.
Whilst this role is based in Newcastle, the firm does not place any geographic limitations on their team. All they are eager to do is deliver premium services to quality clients.
About This Opportunity
This is a genuinely client-facing role. You’ll spend your time meeting with clients, delivering quality personal risk advice, working alongside other experienced Wealth advisers and developing relationships throughout the firm.
With dedicated client service, administration and centralised paraplanning support around you, you’ll have the capacity to focus on where you add the most value: advice, clients and relationships.
As one of the firm’s Risk Specialists you will:
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with clients and provide specialist advice across Life, TPD, Trauma and Income Protection.
- Manage and develop an established Wealth Protection client portfolio, including reviews, retention and new advice opportunities.
- Meet with clients to understand their circumstances, priorities and goals, and develop appropriate protection strategies.
- Provide advice on personal risk insurance both inside and outside superannuation.
- Advise on business protection strategies, including key person, business expenses and buy/sell arrangements where appropriate.
- Work alongside the firms Wealth advisers to provide coordinated advice and identify opportunities to support their clients.
- Convert appropriate internal referrals into quality new business.
- Work closely with insurers and underwriters to progress applications and achieve quality client outcomes.
- Support clients through claims and significant life events in conjunction with the Client Service team.
- Proactively review existing insurance arrangements to ensure strategies remain appropriate as client circumstances change.
- Maintain accurate client records and follow established advice, compliance and workflow processes.
- Continue developing your technical capability through exposure to a broad range of clients, advisers, insurers and professional partners.
About You
You’re a motivated adviser who enjoys working with people, takes ownership and wants to continue building your career. You may already be an established risk or insurance adviser, or you may have spent the early years of your career developing strong technical, paraplanning or administration capability before moving into advice. You may even be an experienced Financial Planner seeking a new challenge.
What matters most is that you bring energy, curiosity, sound professional judgement and a genuine desire to build relationships and grow.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Several years’ experience within the financial advice industry, including experience as an authorised adviser.
- Demonstrated experience providing personal risk insurance advice across Life, TPD, Trauma and Income Protection.
- Strong technical foundations across advice strategy, research, fact finding and advice documentation.
- A strong understanding of underwriting, implementation, policy reviews and ongoing client servicing.
- Confidence engaging with clients and explaining complex advice in a clear and accessible way.
- A genuine interest in developing/nurturing relationships with other likeminded professionals
- A proactive, organised approach and the ability to follow opportunities through from referral to implementation.
- Strong professional judgement and a commitment to quality, compliant advice.
- Experience with XPLAN or a similar advice and client relationship management platform.
- Robust interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, advisers, paraplanners, administration teams and external providers.
Working in a highly regulated industry like Wealth Management does require you to possess the appropriate qualifications.
These include
- Holding an approved Bachelor’s degree or above in Financial Planning, Commerce, Finance or a comparable recognised qualification, or meet an applicable alternative pathway.
- Have completed the FASEA Exam, where applicable.
- Meet all applicable professional standards and legislative requirements to provide personal financial advice.
- Meet applicable ASIC registration and Fit and Proper requirements.
