The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Controller will lead day-to-day financial operations across the group, taking ownership of cash flow, working capital, month-end close, financial reporting, compliance and NetSuite administration.
You will lead the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable team and work closely with Procurement, Commercial and operational leaders to strengthen financial discipline across the business.
An early priority will be improving cash conversion through reliable forecasting, stronger collections and disciplined payment processes.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail,
solving problems and building a finance function that can support a growing operation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading day-to-day financial operations and developing the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable team
- Maintaining daily cash visibility and a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast
- Improving credit control, collections, debtor management and invoicing turnaround
- Managing supplier payment processes and supporting improvements in working capital
- Owning month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany accounting
- Preparing divisional reporting and monthly management packs for CFO review
- Taking ownership of NetSuite administration, including permissions, workflows, master data and reporting
- Managing statutory compliance, year-end accounts and external accountant and audit requirements
You will have the opportunity to build strong relationships across the operation, understand how work flows through the business and help teams improve the processes that influence reporting, profitability and cash.
About You
We’re seeking a practical and proactive Financial Controller or experienced senior finance leader who enjoys taking ownership and improving the way a business operates.
You will be comfortable leading a small team while remaining close to the underlying numbers, systems and daily finance activities.
Ideally, you will bring:
- CA or CPA qualifications and a relevant tertiary qualification
- Experience within a multi-site or operationally complex organisation
- Hands-on NetSuite administration experience, including roles and permissions, workflows, saved searches and multi-subsidiary configuration
- Demonstrated success improving cash flow forecasting, credit control and working capital
- Strong technical accounting skills across month-end, balance sheet management and statutory reporting
- Experience documenting and implementing finance processes and internal controls
- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements
- An approachable leadership style and the confidence to work directly with operational stakeholders
