About us

Able Management is a Sydney-based home maintenance and modifications business. We work with aged care and disability providers to help older people live safely and independently at home, doing repairs, safety modifications and general upkeep for their clients.

The role

You'll visit clients' homes across Sydney to do small repairs, safety modifications and general upkeep. Our office handles referrals, quotes and scheduling. You call the client before each visit, do the job properly, and send photos and notes when it's done.

What you'll be doing

- Installing home modifications from OT reports, including grab rails, handrails, handheld showers and step ramps
- General repairs such as doors, locks, flyscreens, window latches, fixtures, minor carpentry and patching
- Measuring up and assessing jobs so we can quote accurately
- Gutter cleaning, pressure washing and garden tidy-ups




- Painting and touch-ups
- Spotting hazards (trip risks, loose rails, poor lighting) and reporting them to the office
- Working with licensed electricians and plumbers on bigger jobs, or doing that work yourself if you hold the licence
- Taking before and after photos and writing brief job notes on your phone

What you'll need

- Confidence fixing load-bearing rails into tiles, brick, plasterboard and timber
- Your own tools, a reliable vehicle (ute or van preferred) and a current NSW driver licence
- For contractors: an ABN and public liability insurance of at least $5 million
- Patience, respect and clear communication with older clients, including people living with dementia

Nice to have

- At least 1 years' experience in handyman, maintenance or carpentry work
- A carpentry or other trade qualification, or an NSW contractor licence
- Experience with home modifications, aged care or NDIS work
- A Working at Heights ticket
- A White Card (required for home modification work)
- An electrical or plumbing licence
