HEAD CHEF — APPIZZA DARLINGHURST

Full-time | 191 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst

APPIZZA is looking for a confident, organised and energetic Head Chef to lead the kitchen at our late-night Darlinghurst venue.

Pizza experience is welcome, but it isn’t essential. Strong kitchen management and leadership skills are much more important.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Head Chef, you’ll take ownership of the kitchen’s day-to-day operation. You’ll lead the team through busy services, maintain high standards and create a positive, well-organised kitchen environment.

There’s also plenty of room for creativity, with the opportunity to develop new ideas for our weekly specials.

Your responsibilities will include

Leading, training and motivating the kitchen team

Managing rosters, labour costs and kitchen budgets

Maintaining food quality, consistency and presentation

Managing ordering, stock control and food costs

Maintaining food-safety, hygiene and compliance standards

Keeping service running smoothly in a busy, late-night venue

Creating exciting weekly specials

Working closely with the venue and senior management teams

Supporting the continued growth and development of APPIZZA

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone who:





Has previous experience as a Head Chef or in a senior kitchen leadership role

Is an organised, calm and confident leader

Understands food costs, labour management and budget control

Can build, train and retain a strong kitchen team

Takes pride in quality, consistency and cleanliness

Communicates clearly and works well with management

Is comfortable working in a fast-paced, late-night venue

Brings creativity, energy, accountability and a great attitude
