FIGHTMND

Melbourne

You probably know us from the Big Freeze. The beanies. The sliders. The icy plunge at the ’G. The thousands of Australians who come together every year to fight the Beast that is MND.

But FightMND is so much more than one iconic moment. And we’re looking for someone brilliant to help us tell those stories all year round.

That's where you come in.

This isn't your traditional Head of Marketing role.

We're looking for a brilliant creative campaign thinker who can take the WHAT and turn it into the HOW.

You'll receive a campaign brief that tells you what we're trying to achieve, who we need to reach and what success looks like.

Your job? Work out how we're going to make people care.

What's the big idea? What's the story? How does it come alive across social, paid media, eDM, website and in-person experiences?

And how do all those pieces come together to make people feel something and take action?

THE OPPORTUNITY

There aren't many roles where your work can show up at the MCG, across national television, in major retailers, on someone's phone, at a school Big Freeze, in a workplace or at a community footy club and ultimately help fund the fight against MND.

FightMND has built one of Australia's most recognised fundraising movements. Now, our challenge is to keep evolving it.

Find new ways to tell our story. Reach new audiences. And create work that is brave, distinctive, joyful, emotional and unmistakably FightMND.

If you're the kind of person who reads a campaign brief and thinks, "I already have three ideas". You're exactly who we want to hear from.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You'll be the GM Fundraising & Marketing's creative right-hand person, taking our biggest ambitions and turning them into campaigns people notice, feel and act on.

You'll lead the creative marketing response across FightMND's major campaigns. From the Big Freeze and DIY Big Freeze to Daniher's Drive, fundraising appeals, Gifts in Wills, research announcements and whatever we dream up next.

You'll

- Develop the big creative idea, campaign narrative and marketing approach
- Turn campaign objectives and audience insights into ideas that connect with real people
- Shape the messaging. What are we saying, to whom, when and why?
- Determine how the campaign comes to life across paid, social, eDM/SMS, website and how does our campaign show up in person.
- Build the asset map, making sure everything we create has a purpose
- Write brilliant creative briefs that enable our internal specialists and external partners to do their best work
- Lead our internal specialists and make sure every piece of work lives up to the ambition of the campaign brief.
- Work with our Traffic Lead to turn the creative vision into a realistic execution plan
- Challenge "we've always done it this way" and use performance to keep making the work better

WHAT YOU’LL BRING You might come from an agency. You might have built brilliant integrated campaigns in-house.

You'll be someone who

- Is both strategic and wildly creative
- Sees a campaign brief and immediately starts thinking about possibilities

- Has exceptional storytelling instincts and knows how to turn audience insight into compelling creative
- Understands social and digital culture, not just traditional campaign marketing
- Can connect multiple channels and make everything feel like one campaign
- Writes brilliantly and gives explicit, constructive creative direction
- Can recognise a great idea and make a good idea better
- Brings people along with an idea and gets the best out of talented internal specialists
- Balances big thinking with budgets, deadlines and delivery
- Is curious, brave, collaborative and willing to challenge the obvious answer
- Be an exceptional communicator, keeping our GM Fundraising & Marketing across what matters, without needing to be in the weeds.

And you'll have enough experience to know that more assets don't necessarily make a better campaign. Better thinking does.

HOW TO APPLY

We could ask for a traditional cover letter… but where's the fun in that?

Instead, show us what you've got.

Send us

- A video of up to 3 minutes telling us why you'd be a great addition to FightMND. How you do it is completely up to you. Be creative. Be yourself. Make us want to keep watching.
- A portfolio of your best work. Show us the campaigns and ideas you're most proud of — and, importantly, the thinking behind them.
- Your current CV. Give us a snapshot of your experience, skills and what you've been up to so far.
- Send this to [email protected]

Applications close on Wednesday 14 October 2026, however we will be reviewing applications as they come in. Consider this your first FightMND creative brief.

Make us stop scrolling.
