Head of Enterprise Platforms and Security

Own the technology backbone of a growing business.

We're partnering with an established, Australian-owned technology group to appoint a technology leader who will take ownership of infrastructure, engineering quality, platform resilience and cyber security across a specialist ERP software business and its hosting platform.

This is a chance to shape how a growing technology business builds, secures and scales. You'll assess where things stand today, set the target-state architecture, and lead the uplift that makes the platform secure, resilient and ready for growth.

What you'll do

- Assure. Run an independent, end-to-end review of development operations and hosting infrastructure. Surface the real risks, control gaps, single points of failure and technical debt, then turn them into a prioritised, costed remediation plan.
- Engineer. Lead the development function and raise the bar on how software gets built: secure SDLC, peer review, testing, release and change control. Design an engineering operating model that scales without relying on heroics.
- Secure. Embed security by design. Drive vulnerability management, privileged access, logging and monitoring, penetration testing and incident readiness, working with group cyber leadership.
- Architect. Set the target-state architecture across applications, integrations, data, cloud and infrastructure,



backed by a multi-year roadmap.
- Build resilience. Remove key-person dependency through documentation, cross-training and transparent ownership, and make sure disaster recovery is tested, not just written down.

What you'll bring

- Technology leadership across software engineering, architecture, cloud or hosted infrastructure, and cyber security
- A track record of independently assessing and improving a development function, and assuring production platforms for security, resilience and recovery
- Strong cyber risk and controls experience
- The judgement to balance security, delivery speed and investment, and the courage to call it when practices fall short
- The ability to lead through influence with experienced engineers and executives and explain complex risk in plain language

Technical Experience

We're looking for someone with solid, hands-on knowledge across several of the following areas:

- Platforms and environments: SaaS, ERP, managed hosting or open-source environments
- Security and compliance frameworks: ISO 27001, the ASD Essential Eight or NIST CSF
- Engineering practices: DevSecOps, site reliability engineering (SRE) or platform engineering
- Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, TOGAF or SABSA, or AWS or Azure certifications
