Head of School — Nursing | Launch our Bachelor of Nursing | Melbourne The Institute of Health & Management (IHM), a TEQSA-registered Institute of Higher Education powered by Arizona State University and ranked #1 in Australia for Skills Development (QILT 2024), is seeking an exceptional nursing academic leader to head its School of Nursing.
This is a career-defining appointment. Our Bachelor of Nursing will join our established Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing and Master of Nursing. The Head of School will launch the Bachelor of Nursing, grow all three courses to meet or exceed budgeted enrolment numbers each year, and lead the school at the centre of IHM's vision to become the first Australian University College in Nursing by 2030.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the School of Nursing and its three courses, reporting directly to the Chief Academic Officer and Vice President
- Deliver a successful Bachelor of Nursing launch— workforce, clinical placements and systems readiness
- Achieve and exceed budgeted/approved enrolment numbers for each course, every year, with monthly performance reporting
- Manage all course governance processes: monitoring, moderation, course advisory committees, comprehensive reviews, Academic Board reporting
- Maintain ANMAC accreditation and compliance with TEQSA HESF 2021, the ESOS Act and National Code 2018
- Build clinical placement capacity with partners including Ramsay Health Care, across metropolitan and regional Australia
- Lead and develop Course Coordinators and academic staff
- Represent IHM at the Council of Deans of Nursing and Midwifery (Australia & New Zealand)
Requirements
- PhD (or equivalent research doctorate) in nursing or a cognate discipline — essential
- Current Ahpra registration as a Registered Nurse — essential
- Substantial nursing academic leadership experience in Australian higher education
- Proven enrolment growth, budget management and accreditation leadership

Pay: $170,000.00 – $175,000.00 per year
