About the Role

Sufra is seeking a highly experienced Afghan Chef to join our kitchen team in a full-time position.

We are looking for a skilled chef with a strong background in authentic Afghan cuisine and at least 5 years of professional experience. This position requires someone who can confidently manage their section, maintain consistency during busy services, and deliver traditional Afghan dishes to a high standard.

This is an opportunity for an experienced chef looking for a stable, long-term position within an established restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook authentic Afghan dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Prepare traditional rice, meat, kebab and other Afghan specialities.
- Maintain authentic flavours, cooking methods and presentation.
- Manage food preparation and kitchen organisation for your section.
- Maintain consistent portion sizes and food quality.
- Monitor stock levels and minimise food waste.
- Work efficiently during high-volume service periods.
- Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
- Work closely with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth service.

Requirements




- Minimum 5 years of skilled experience as an Afghan Chef is essential.
- Extensive knowledge of traditional Afghan cuisine and cooking techniques.
- Strong preparation, cooking and presentation skills.
- Experience working in a busy restaurant kitchen.
- Ability to maintain consistency and quality during high-volume service.
- Strong organisation and time-management skills.
- Reliable, professional and able to work effectively within a team.
- Availability to work a full-time roster, including weekends and evenings as required.
- Full Australian working rights.
