About the role
SET provides project delivery and client representative services across the utility and data centre sectors. This is a client-side role representing the asset owner and overseeing construction contractors. You will coordinate site activities and monitor safety, quality and progress through to handover, supporting the client's Project Manager on site.
Key responsibilities
- Support the client's Project Manager with day-to-day site delivery and construction coordination
- Coordinate contractor activities, work fronts, access and site interfaces
- Monitor construction progress against the programme and report risks, delays and issues
- Monitor construction quality, including inspections, ITPs, records, non-conformances and close-out
- Monitor contractor compliance with project safety requirements and raise issues for action
- Review construction activities against approved drawings, specifications and client requirements
- Manage receivals of client-supplied equipment, including delivery planning, offloading, inspection, inventory and reporting damage or shortages
- Coordinate equipment storage, preservation and tracking in line with project and manufacturer requirements
- Represent the client at site meetings and maintain clear project records and progress reports
- Support testing, commissioning and handover activities
About you
- A recognised electrical trade qualification
- Demonstrated experience managing or supervising the construction of extra high voltage substations to Ausgrid and/or Transgrid standards
- Robust knowledge of substation construction, including civil, primary plant, cabling, protection and control interfaces
- Experience coordinating contractors and work fronts on an active construction site
- A sound understanding of construction quality processes, inspection and test plans, and site safety requirements
- Clear communication skills and confidence working with contractors, consultants and project teams
- The ability to identify site issues early and work constructively with the Project Manager
- A current driver's licence and the ability to work at project sites in the Hunter Valley
Highly regarded
- An engineering qualification, particularly in electrical engineering.
- Experience in a client representative role.
- Experience on utility or data centre projects.
