Hospitality Operations Manager

Slipstream Brewing Co. | Brisbane and Sunshine Coast

This role can be based at either our Yeerongpilly or Birtinya venue, with regular travel between both locations. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Slipstream Brewing Co. is looking for an experienced Hospitality Operations Manager to lead our two venues: Slipstream Brewing Bar & Kitchen in Yeerongpilly and Social House in Birtinya.

Working closely with the owners, you’ll develop our Venue Managers, Head Chefs and venue teams while taking responsibility for service standards, people, commercial performance and compliance. You’ll also help us identify what comes next for Slipstream’s hospitality business.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being in venues. You’ll spend regular time across both locations, including during key evening and weekend services, observing the guest experience and coaching leaders and teams in real time.

What you’ll do

- Lead our people: Coach and develop Venue Managers and Head Chefs, set clear expectations and help them build capable, accountable teams.
- Own recruitment and people management: Lead workforce planning and recruitment for venues. Support managers with onboarding, retention, performance concerns, employee relations and staff development.
- Lift hospitality standards: Set clear expectations for service, food quality and presentation. Improve product knowledge, service timing, floor organisation and complaint handling, while recognising the different customers and opportunities at each venue.
- Strengthen kitchen and front-of-house collaboration: Work with Head Chefs on menu execution, food quality, kitchen labour and food costs, and ensure teams work effectively together.
- Drive commercial results: Work with owners and venue leaders on budgets and operating plans. Manage revenue,



profitability, labour and controllable costs, and turn reporting into practical action.
- Build reliable operations: Improve efficiency through consistent systems, technology and better ways of working. Oversee key supplier, stock and maintenance priorities, and ensure agreed actions are followed through.
- Maintain safe, compliant venues: Uphold standards across workplace safety, food safety, liquor licensing and operational compliance.
- Make events and functions work: Assess commercial viability, ensure teams and venues are ready to deliver, and review revenue, costs and guest feedback afterwards. Work with our brewing and marketing teams to develop event ideas and offerings.
- Explore future opportunities: Identify new experiences, partnerships, service offerings and potential venues, then work with the owners to assess their commercial and operational viability.

About you You’re a hospitality leader with a strong front-of-house background, sound knowledge of kitchen operations and the commercial judgement to manage two busy venues. You’re comfortable coaching during service, handling a difficult people matter and reviewing the numbers behind venue performance.

You’ll bring

- Experience leading multiple hospitality venues or a large, complex hospitality operation.
- A record of developing Venue Managers, Head Chefs or comparable senior leaders.
- Robust recruitment and people-management experience,



including performance management and employee relations.
- Evidence of improvements in guest experience, team performance, sales or profitability.
- Experience managing budgets, labour, food and beverage costs, and operational compliance.
- The ability to work across Yeerongpilly and Birtinya, with regular presence during key evening and weekend trade.
