Facilities include 9 state-of-the-art operating theatres, two cardiac catheter laboratories, a minor procedure room, a day surgery unit, an 11 bed intensive care unit/coronary care unit and an 9 chair day therapy unit. Join the Environmental Services team at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital as a Full-Time Housekeeping Team Leader.
Working closely with the Housekeeping Manager, you will support the day-to-day operation of the housekeeping team while also taking a hands-on approach to cleaning duties across the hospital. You will assist with staffing shortages, provide leave relief and help ensure our hospital environment is maintained to a high standard.
About You
You are a reliable and hands-on team member with strong organisational skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. You are comfortable supporting a team, managing competing priorities and stepping in to assist with cleaning duties when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Housekeeping Manager with the day-to-day coordination and operation of the housekeeping service
- Provide hands-on cleaning support across wards and hospital areas when required, including covering staffing shortages
- Ensure cleaning standards are maintained across patient, clinical and public areas
- Support the team with daily tasks and help coordinate priorities to ensure cleaning requirements are met
- Provide leave relief for the Housekeeping Manager as required
- Assist with the allocation and coordination of housekeeping duties
- Support staff and provide guidance on cleaning procedures and standards
- Assist with maintaining appropriate cleaning equipment, products and supplies
- Ensure cleaning activities are completed in accordance with infection prevention and control requirements
- Promote safe work practices and compliance with workplace health and safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with clinical and non-clinical staff regarding housekeeping requirements
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team workplace
You Will Also Bring
- Previous experience in housekeeping, cleaning or environmental services, preferably within a healthcare environment
- Previous team leader or supervisory experience is desirable
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work hands-on and assist with cleaning duties as required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and respond effectively to changing operational requirements
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, flexible and proactive approach to work
- Commitment to workplace health and safety and infection prevention and control
