About D4C

Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) is a consortium comprising of industry leading Tier 1 organisations - John Holland, Service Stream and WSP. We are helping our client, Sydney Water, to deliver a $34 billion dollar program over a 10-year contract, providing design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services across their southern region - from Bondi to Gerringong, and out to the Georges River National Park

When you join D4C, you'll be joining a team of 700+ employees, all helping to provide services that are vital to Sydney Water's customers' quality of life, and to safeguard Sydney's future by maintaining a sustainable water supply and protecting our iconic waterways.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the People & Culture Lead, you will partner with employees and frontline leaders to support a safe, engaged and high-performing workforce. You'll deliver core people processes, provide practical day-to-day advice, help leaders manage employee relations fairly and consistently, and support change that works in an operational environment. This is a hands-on role where thoughtful advice and reliable follow-through matter equally.

This role is a genuine pathway to permanent employment. Beginning as a 6-month temporary assignment, this will provide you the opportunity to experience the role and team firsthand, ensure it's the right fit, and build towards a rewarding long-term career within one of our Tier 1 parent companies.

What you'll do

- Triage day-to-day people queries and provide practical, responsive support, escalating complex matters when needed.
- Manage employee relations matters involving conduct, performance, grievances and workplace conflict with fairness, sound judgement and clear records.
- Coach leaders through difficult conversations,

documentation requirements, role clarity and consistent people practices.
- Partner with People Services and payroll teams to maintain accurate employee data, contracts, variations and timely processing.
- Support recruitment, selection, training, workforce consultation and organisational change.
- Use workforce insights including turnover, absenteeism, overtime, incidents and engagement to identify issues and recommend practical improvements.
- Stay visible and connected across the operation, building trust with leaders and employees.
- Complete the essential administrative work including records, follow-ups, reports, document checks and process updates.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and collaborative workplace while meeting all relevant policy, legal and HSEQ obligations.

About you You're an adaptable and curious operator who asks valuable questions, looks for better and simpler ways of working and can shift comfortably between strategic thinking and detailed execution. You enjoy variety, bring creativity to practical problems and don't believe any task is beneath you. Whether you're advising a leader on a sensitive issue or checking a spreadsheet, filing a record or following up paperwork, you bring the same level of ownership and professionalism.

This is a five-day-a-week, in-person role for someone who enjoys being visible, connecting with people and building trusted relationships in our Redfern office and across project sites.
