HR MANAGER - muk Haircare A new role, a growing business, and HR that needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.

If you'd rather set up a system for growth, read on.

About muk Haircaremuk Haircare is an Australian family-owned professional haircare brand, designed by industry professionals. With an international footprint and turnkey product portfolio, we are the trusted partner for professional salons and distributors. Our product portfolio - professional colour, care and styling tools - is sold in salons across Australia and in 15 countries, online, on Amazon and through selected distributors and retailers.

We're a team of around 80 - Head Office and Warehouse in Keilor Park, Sales Reps and Educators around the country.

The business is in its biggest growth phase yet, backed by the largest capital investment in muk's history and a new CEO, CFO and CMO. New brands, new systems and new markets are on the way. We're getting bigger, and our HR needs to catch up.

Your RoleThis is a new role and a bigger job than any HR role we've had before. You'll report to the CEO and sit on the leadership team. It's hands-on: you'll work out what needs doing, and then you'll do it.

- Review every HR system, process, policy and template we have, then rebuild them and roll them out across head office, the field and the warehouse
- Work with the CEO and CFO on how the business should be structured as it grows, and what roles we'll need
- Handle the people side of the changes we're making - new roles, restructures, new systems - and make sure we consult properly and follow the rules
- Run recruitment, and make sure every hire goes through a proper process
- Make sure every role has a explicit , and every person knows what's expected of them. Run the annual reviews and pay reviews

- Set up salary bands and work with Finance on bonuses and incentives
- Make sure we're getting awards, contracts, pay and records right, and deal with staff issues fairly
- Look after health and safety across the office, the warehouse and the field
- Help our managers get better at managing, and make sure we're not relying on any one person
- Keep our HR records in one place, accurate and up to date, and report the numbers to the CEO and Board every month

About You

- A degree in HR, industrial relations, business, psychology or similar
- At least 8 years in HR since graduating, including three or more years as an HR manager or senior HR business partner across the full range of HR work - ideally in a business of 50 to 200 people
- You've led real change yourself: transformations, restructures, new roles, new ways of working
- You know the Fair Work Act, the National Employment Standards and the awards well, and you've applied them to office, warehouse and field staff
- You can handle the hard stuff - underperformance, misconduct, complaints and investigations and handle it fairly
- You've pulled apart HR systems, processes, rebuilt them, and got people to actually use the new ones
- Good with numbers - budgets, wage costs, leave balances and comfortable working alongside a CFO
- Hands-on, discreet and happy to travel interstate if required

Nice to have

- Haircare, beauty, skincare,

FMCG or retail experience
- Professional HR membership (AHRI) or a postgraduate qualification in HR or employment relations.
- Experience of a business being invested in, merged or bought
- Experience with staff spread across several states, and some international exposure
- You've done this in a business growing faster than its systems

Why mukA lot of HR roles at this level mean running something someone else built, or following decisions made somewhere else. Not this one. muk is Australian owned and run out of Melbourne, you'll get to set it up your way, and the CEO you report to wants it done properly.

To be upfront: there's no team yet. As the business grows, the team will too, and you'll help choose who joins it. If you want a quiet, steady HR job, this isn't it. If you want to build HR for a business on its way to being much bigger, it is.

What's on Offer

- Attractive salary package
- A seat on the leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO
- The chance to build HR your way, and the team as we grow
- Access to free hair product (of course)
- A friendly culture that genuinely backs each other
- A brand built on real values: honest products, no compromise on quality, and real care for our people and our community
- Proudly Australian owned, cruelty free and bold about both
