About the role
As an Immunisation Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality immunisation services for the community. You will administer vaccines, obtain informed consent, provide clear advice to clients, and respond to any adverse events in line with clinical guidelines and legislative requirements. Working as part of a supportive team, you will help ensure immunisation sessions run smoothly, safely and efficiently while providing a positive experience for community members.
Through your work, you will help increase community participation in immunisation programs, provide trusted information to residents, and support continuous improvements that strengthen service quality and outcomes.
- This is a permanent part-time position (11 hours over 2 days per week) with an hourly rate from $55.55 to $60.67 per hour plus higher qualification allowances plus superannuation.

Experience and skills we’re looking for
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and qualification as a nurse immuniser.
- Experience administering vaccinations in a clinical or community health setting.
- Knowledge of the Australian Immunisation Handbook and relevant immunisation legislation and guidelines.
- Ability to obtain informed consent and communicate clinical information clearly and respectfully.
- Experience responding to clinical incidents and managing emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Understanding of vaccine storage, handling, transport and disposal requirements.
- Ability to provide accurate advice and education to people from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prepare for and support multiple immunisation sessions.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and support colleagues in delivering quality services.
- Commitment to continuous learning, professional development and improving community health outcomes.
