Description

About the role

- This is a highly collaborative role, requiring you to build strong partnerships with health services, community providers and people with lived and living experience to develop solutions that respond to community needs and system-wide priorities.
- You’ll have lead responsibilities for the Brisbane North PHN approach to suicide prevention, distress and Aftercare, initiate regional programs, pathways and initiatives.
- You’ll lead and coordinate commissioning and quality improvement activities, including service planning and design, procurement, contract and KPI development, evaluation and performance monitoring.
- A key part of the role requires you to actively contribute to system reform in mental health and suicide prevention through participation in appropriate PHN, HHS, and sector-wide committees.
- Drawing on knowledge from the National Suicide Prevention strategy and relevant national and state policy directions, you’ll drive regional joint planning for early intervention, human-centred design and capacity building initiatives.
- You’ll also apply best practice engagement and partnering approaches to collaborate with health and community stakeholders to embed joint regional planning (2025-2030) using human centred design principles and methodology.

Skills And Experiences

About you

You will bring





- Tertiary qualifications in public health, community services or a related discipline, with significant experience in mental health, suicide prevention or community settings.
- Strong knowledge of mental health and suicide prevention policy, strategy and service delivery, including human rights principles and the needs of priority populations.
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and monitoring mental health, suicide prevention or capacity-building programs and service models.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience interpreting population health needs, identifying service gaps and using data to inform quality improvement and evaluate outcomes.
- Proven stakeholder engagement and partnership skills, including working collaboratively with people with lived and living experience, carers, health and community providers, peak bodies and government.
- Strong project management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to lead initiatives, coordinate resources, meet reporting requirements and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Salary: $109,438.51 base, plus 12% super, 17.5% leave loading (depending on role), salary packaging, additional week of leave, $1,500 PD allowance, $150 wellbeing allowance and $1,000 car parking benefit.
