A global business is looking for a hands-on Logistics Manager to take charge of its Sydney warehouse and logistics operation on a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential to extend.
This is real ownership. You'll run the operation, lead the team and deliver a defined operational project with clear outcomes and a explicit end date.
The role
You'll take the operation and make it run better. Inventory accurate. Receiving and dispatch reliable. A team that knows what good looks like and delivers it every day.
This is not a desk job. You'll be on the floor, close to the work, sorting problems as they come up. You'll also work with senior stakeholders across the wider business and lead a key operational project from start to finish.
What you'll do
- Lead and work alongside the team on daily warehousing and distribution
- Own inbound and outbound warehouse and transport performance, quality and cost
- Keep the operation compliant with company logistics standards and KPIs
- Manage replenishment planning with coordinators and stakeholders
- Work with sales and commercial teams on demand planning and stock availability
- Manage forwarder relationships,
including performance reviews and shipment visibility
- Support and improve logistics systems, including ERP, WMS and order management
- Support customs clearance and related procedures
- Report on logistics quality, cost and operational plans
- Deliver a defined operational project from start to finish
What you bring
- Five or more years in logistics, warehousing, distribution or inventory operations
- Experience leading a warehouse or logistics team
- Working knowledge of ERP and WMS systems
- Experience with forwarders, inbound freight and customs
- Comfortable with demand planning, replenishment and stock control
- A hands-on, practical management style
- The ability to bring calm, energy and structure to a team
- Operational improvement experience, highly regarded
- A stable work history and strong references
Why it's worth it
- Full ownership of an operation, not a slice of one
- A 12-month scope with possible extension
- Senior stakeholders who back you
- The kind of project that sets up your next move
