About the role

We are looking for a Machine Operator to join our Bairnsdale team. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will set up and operate packing machinery, complete product checks and maintain clean equipment and work areas.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with machine operating experience, good attention to detail and a reliable approach to teamwork. Opportunity to be considered for a full-time role after three months, subject to performance, business requirements and role availability.

A day in the life

- Set up packing machinery, select the correct packaging film and complete film changes for different products.

- Set and change packing machine and Ishida programs, ensuring date codes are correct.

- Assemble the Ishida weigh head and prepare equipment for production.

- Position product bins for loading, mix products as required and feed product into the packing process.

- Add condiments as required for the product being packed.

- Carry out weight, gas and seal checks and accurately complete production paperwork.

- Clean weigh heads, hoppers and conveyors in accordance with site procedures.

- Maintain a clean,



safe and organised work area while working with your team to complete daily production tasks.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

- Previous experience operating machinery.

- Good literacy and numeracy skills to follow instructions, check product details and complete records accurately.

- Attention to detail when selecting film, setting date codes and checking pack quality.

- The ability to work cooperatively in a busy production team.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- A dependable approach, initiative and flexibility to move between tasks as production requirements change.

- A commitment to following safe work practices and maintaining food hygiene and cleanliness standards.

- Physically fit (manual handling up to 10kg)
- Must be 18 years
