As a Civil Machine Operator, you will operate a range of construction plant safely and efficiently across our sports civil projects.
Key responsibilities
- Operating excavators, skid steers, loaders and other civil construction machinery
- Completing excavation, trenching, truck loading and final trimming using UTS machine-control equipment
- Working from civil plans, set-out information, levels and site specifications
- Working to project programs and daily work plans
- Working alongside supervisors, labourers and other machine operators
- Carrying out daily pre-start checks, reporting faults and assisting with routine maintenance requirements
- Ensuring machinery is operated safely and correctly
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area
- Working efficiently to meet project deadlines and being available for reasonable overtime when required
- Following all company safety policies and site requirements
About you
- Previous experience operating machinery within the civil construction industry
- Experience operating a range of machinery across multiple civil construction tasks
- Robust understanding of civil construction and earthworks
- Ability to read and interpret civil plans, set-out information and levels
- Strong focus on safety
- Great communication skills and the ability to work effectively with supervisors and the wider crew
- A proactive, forward-thinking operator who takes ownership of their work
- Confident using UTS machine-control equipment and total stations
- Proven ability to prepare subgrades, subbases and finished surfaces to tight tolerances
- Current White Card, current Australian driver's licence, and relevant machinery tickets and licences
