The Mackay City & Waterfront team is looking for an organised and proactive Project Support Officer to help deliver projects, events, placemaking initiatives, stakeholder engagement activities and grant programs that contribute to the transformation and growth of Mackay's City Centre and Waterfront precincts.

This is a unique opportunity to join a passionate team working on projects that create vibrant places, strengthen community connections and support economic growth across our region.

About The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects and initiatives by providing project coordination, governance, administration, communications, financial and stakeholder engagement support.

No two days will be the same. One day you may be coordinating an event, managing grant documentation or preparing project reports. The next, you could be engaging with stakeholders, undertaking procurement activities, updating communication channels or helping activate exciting community initiatives.

You'll Be

- Adaptable and comfortable navigating changing priorities
- A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
- Highly organised with the ability to support project reporting, financial administration and governance processes.
- Innovative, creative and willing to contribute current ideas
- Confident building relationships with a broad range of people
- A collaborative team player

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Candidates who bring experience in project coordination, governance support, procurement, budgeting, reporting and document management will be well placed to thrive in this role. We also value transferable skills gained in administration, event coordination, stakeholder engagement, grants administration, communications or customer service environments, as these experiences will provide a strong foundation for success in the role through the development of strong organisational, relationship-building and attention-to-detail skills.

Qualifications in any of the following areas will be considered:

- Business Administration, Project Management, Communications, Marketing, Event Management, Community Development, or a related discipline
