About the role In this role, you will lead the Clinical HTA team from both a technical and management perspective. You’ll oversee a portfolio of clinical evaluation and evidence synthesis projects for government, funding bodies and other external clients, as well as work undertaken for RACS. You’ll be responsible for making sure projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget, while also building the capability and capacity of the team.

Key responsibilities include

- Lead and support the Clinical HTA team, including workforce planning, resource allocation, coaching and performance management.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight across clinical evaluation, evidence synthesis and critical appraisal work.
- Oversee project delivery, including quality, timelines, budgets, utilisation and resource planning.
- Develop funding submissions and contribute technical and operational input to tenders and project proposals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, funders, government and other key stakeholders.
- Work closely with the General Manager, Research, Audit & Academic Surgery and Manager, Health Economics HTA to support the team’s work and broader business development opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, project outcomes and client satisfaction.

The role is full time ongoing and based out of our Adelaide office.

About the team

You’ll join a team of nine, including another Manager responsible for the health economics stream. The majority of the team are HTA researchers,



working across a range of clinical evaluation and evidence synthesis projects. The team works primarily with governments, including the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, as well as international funders.

Projects include de novo HTAs, evaluation of submitted HTAs and development of HTA protocols. You’ll work closely with colleagues across RACS, including research and clinical leaders, as well as external clients, funders, medical colleges, specialty societies, clinicians and research partners.

About you

You’re an experienced HTA researcher and people leader who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to manage projects, people and stakeholder relationships.

You’ll bring

- Strong experience in health technology assessment, clinical evaluation or evidence synthesis, with highly developed clinical assessment and critical appraisal skills.
- Experience leading a program of projects, including planning, prioritisation, resource allocation and budget management.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to work confidently with clients, funders, clinicians and other external stakeholders.
- Experience leading, coaching and developing a specialist team.
- Experience contributing to business development, funding submissions or tender responses would be desirable.
- A tertiary qualification, ideally postgraduate, in health, science or a related field is required.
