Casual to Full-Time Opportunity |

EIF Industries is a well-established multidisciplinary company founded in 2016, with a growing team of 45 professionals across electrical, mechanical, automation, fabrication, instrumentation, communications and engineering.

Based in Gawler (north of Adelaide) we service major industries across South Australia including food & beverage, wineries & bottling halls, quarrying, mining, power generation, waste management, telecommunications, grain handling, concrete & aggregates, and manufacturing.

We are currently seeking a motivated Mechanical Fitter to join our dynamic team for an immediate start.

About the Role

- Casual role with full time opportunity after 3–6 months – for the right candidate
- Perform mechanical fitting and fabrication works
- Preventative and breakdown maintenance across industrial sites
- Work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
- Work with and supervise apprentices
- Provide mechanical/fabrication coverage across varying shifts (day, afternoon & some night)
- Travel across SA metro and regional sites as required
- Occasional short-term work away from home may be required
- Participate in overtime and after-hours breakdown support
- Use Simpro, Teams, email and mobile apps for reporting
- Complete JSEA, SWMS and safety documentation
- Communicate with clients and internal teams professionally

Skills & Experience

Mandatory

- Trade qualified – Certificate III in Mechanical Fitting
- Minimum 5 years industry experience
- White Card (SA Construction Induction)
- Must hold a current C class (car) driver's licence




- Candidates must be Australian permanent residents or citizens with full working rights in South Australia
- Strong safety mindset
- Exceptional fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Experience in preventative and breakdown maintenance
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Competent with smartphones, email and digital systems
- Ability to follow work instructions and SOPs accurately
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
- Basic welding ability (ARC / MIG / TIG) – highly valued

Desirable

- Experience in Food & Beverage, Quarrying, Mining, Manufacturing or Automation
- Welding stainless and multiple material types
- Welding tickets
- Conveyor system maintenance
- Working at Heights
- Confined Space
- Forklift licence
- Scissor / Knuckle Boom / EWP ticket
- Machining experience
- CAD / CAM exposure
- PLC logic or basic programming exposure
- Preventative maintenance planning experience
- ISO 45001 / safety compliance systems knowledge
- Shutdown and planned maintenance experience

Interview Process

Shortlisted candidates will be asked trade-based technical questions and may be required to complete a practical assessment.
