PPM Global is seeking an experienced Metallurgist / Process Engineer to join our team at Nifty, working a 14 days on / 14 days off FIFO roster.
This role is suited to a technically capable and practical professional with strong experience in base and/or precious metals processing, metallurgical accounting, laboratory activities and process performance.
About the Role
Working as part of the site processing team, you will provide metallurgical and process engineering support focused on plant performance, metallurgical accounting and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities will include
- Monitoring and analysing plant and metallurgical performance
- Supporting day-to-day mineral processing operations
- Undertaking metallurgical data analysis and reporting
- Managing and supporting metallurgical accounting
- Reviewing laboratory and operational data
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and optimisation
- Investigating process performance issues and recommending practical solutions
- Supporting metallurgical test work and laboratory activities
- Working collaboratively with processing, maintenance and operational teams
- Providing clear technical reporting and communication to key stakeholders
Essential Requirements To be considered, you will require:
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in base and/or precious metals processing
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of mineral processing operations and process performance
- Robust analytical and data interpretation skills
- Practical process troubleshooting and optimisation capability
- Effective communication, reporting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a FIFO site environment
