We are a Perth based civil consultancy providing construction focused precontract services for the Perth infrastructure market. We provide contract engineers, estimators and project managers for our clients, which include DT Infrastructure, Downer, Georgiou, SRG Global - right the way down to the smaller tier civil and electrical contractors.
About the role - MRWA and OMTID Surveillance Officers Civil, Earthworks and Structures.
You'll work on site on major WA road projects delivered through OMTID (Main Roads and the PTA). You'll represent the client's interests by inspecting and verifying the contractor's work against the contract, specifications, quality plan and WHS requirements. You'll report to the Project Director and the Contract Manager or Superintendent.
Key responsibilities
- Identify risks for the Superintendent's Quality Plan, and carry out surveillance in line with that plan and the ITPs
- Keep daily site records and produce daily reports
- Monitor and report on compliance with the contract and specifications, and raise non-conformances
- Carry out regular safety inspections and help identify and manage hazards
- Report on documents and design details, and help with contract disputes
- Inspect Main Roads assets, report defects, and schedule and issue works orders to fix them
- Suggest improvements to construction methods and efficiency
About you
- At least 10 years' supervisor-level experience in MRWA/PTA road or bridge construction, including site surveillance experience
- Strong knowledge of the Perth and WA civil infrastructure market and working relationships with the top tier contractors
- Sound knowledge of good construction practice, safety and quality systems
- Solid Microsoft Office skills for daily reporting
- Construction Industry White Card and supervisor-level safety training
- 4WD training where the engagement needs it
- No criminal convictions punishable by imprisonment
- At least two referees from similar contracts
- Previous experience on Main Roads projects (desirable)
- Relevant trade qualifications, certifications or industry memberships (desirable)
