We have 2 Roles available– at our Yeppoon/ Emu Park, and Rockhampton Clinics We have roles that would suit an experienced Occupational therapist through to new graduate's looking for a supportive team with a varied caseload for greater experience. Permanent part-time to Full-time position's available within our Rockhampton, Yeppoon, and Emu Park practices subject to your work life balance and location preferences. Activate Health is a well-respected Allied Health provider in CQ with well-appointed practices in Rockhampton, Yeppoon, and Emu park, including specially equipped therapy gyms and consult rooms. Activate Health has been providing best practice rehabilitation and health promotion care for over 14 years with an amazing team of Allied Health Professionals including Physiotherapist's, Accredited Exercise physiologist's, Diabetes Educator, Therapy assistant, Health Promotion facilitator, and a large health support team. We have recently added to our team a Lead Occupational Therapist with over 10 years’ experience who has qualifications and specialisations in both hand and upper limb, and lymphedema management. Tayla is extremely passionate about client care and looks forward to a collaborative and mentoring role with the further development of the Occupational Therapy team. Together with our newly expanded practices we are excited with the huge potential for Occupational therapy within Activate Health.

Our current OT services include:

- Hand and upper limb assessment, diagnosed, and rehabilitation




- Hand and upper limb splinting and Orthoses
- Oedema and non-complex lymphoedema
- Functional Capacity Assessments
- Return-to-work rehabilitation and assessments,
- Minor home modifications and equipment prescription,
- Neurological assessment & rehabilitation,
- Functional rehabilitation to restore independence,
- Arthritis management Pain management

Activate Health aims to add Pediatrics Occupational therapy to our services, currently servicing this clientele with our Pediatrics specialised Physiotherapists and Accredited Exercise Physiologist’s. Pediatric interest valued but not a requirement, with other practitioner interests and specialisations are also highly valued.

Activate Health’s Multidisciplinary team provides a wide variety of services including;

- NDIS assessments and interventions (all ages from 2-102, multidisciplinary available),
- Commonwealth Home care package,
- Workcover return to work programs,
- Work readiness programs for special needs,
- Department of Veteran affairs assessments and interventions,
- Medicare referrals (CDM Care Plans),
- Special population programs available including Parkinson's, Oncology, Pediatrics, and seniors.
- In practice, home programs, school and community based, and hydrotherapy-based programs offered.

- Participate in fortnightly Health practitioner case conference meetings including in-house AEP/ Physio/ OT presentations, group case studies, guest speakers.

Be guided with continual support, mentorship, and ongoing professional growth:

- Activate Health has an in-depth New Graduate Preceptorship Program comprising of a thorough and detailed orientation, time shadowing experienced team members over all our service types and client conditions.
- Specific service training and mentoring with our lead OT,
- In-depth report writing training and guidance for all report/ service types, until you are competent and confident,
- Use of quality report and clinical templates for ease of learning and best practice,
- Extended appointment times and report times allocated to ensure you are able to learn and gain competence with reduced stress.
- A dedicated senior mentor for your first year; with weekly 1 on 1 face to face mentoring, continued as needed past 1 year.
- Quality assessment and reporting templates and systems, and full report writing training and guidance.
- A gradual introduction to higher skilled services, and further in house training opportunities.
- 3-6 and 12 monthly evaluations, with career mentoring and coaching.
- Yearly renumeration increases with successful evaluations.
- Participate in fortnightly Health practitioner case conference meetings including in-house AEP/ Physio/ OT presentations, group case studies, guest speakers, and client brain-storming sessions.
