To provide a high-quality Orthoptics service to patients/clients and their carers to ensure optimal health outcomes. This encompasses ensuring effective and efficient assessment and intervention in a multidisciplinary setting. The Orthoptist is also responsible for undertaking designated non-clinical tasks to support service delivery including clinical supervision, quality improvement activities and administrative tasks.
Selection Criteria To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
- Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in Orthoptics which is accredited as eligibility for membership of Orthoptics Australia and the Australian Orthoptic Board and graduated with an Orthoptics degree in the previous 6 months
- Willingness to work extended hours
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Knowledge of and the demonstrated ability to implement the quality improvement process
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy and time management
- Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development and commitment to evidence based practice
- Demonstrated thorough clinical knowledge, skills and experience in Orthoptics
