As a Paediatric Registrar, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, family-centred care to infants, children and adolescents. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and management of paediatric patients across inpatient, outpatient and emergency settings, while developing your clinical expertise under the supervision of experienced Consultant Paediatricians.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Actively participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team by working collaboratively and effectively with other health professionals.
- Provides effective interaction at a primary patient care level, through ensuring patients and parents/caregivers are informed about their medical care and involved in decision making.
- Close collaboration with the Children's Emergency Department is a requirement of this role, including provision of assistance to the Children's Emergency Department when required.
- Registrars contribute to Unit Education program including Registrar, Resident Medical Officer and Medical Student teaching. Registrar and RMO teaching include both unit specific teaching and teaching to the broader TPCH education programmes.
Medical Student teaching commitments will be negotiated at the commencement of each semester with allowance made for workload and planned leave.
