About the Role

Perilya's Broken Hill Operations is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Officer. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and maintenance of employee remuneration and leave records across our operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll, payroll administration, or accounting experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and delivering exceptional service to employees and leaders across the business.

As a Payroll Officer, you will:

- Process payroll accurately and on time in accordance with company policies, industrial instruments, and legislative requirements.

- Review and validate employee timesheets and payroll data.

- Maintain accurate employee leave records, including annual leave and long service leave.

- Ensure payroll and employee data is accurately entered and maintained within company systems.

- Respond to payroll-related enquiries from employees and management.

- Assist with payroll reporting and reconciliation activities.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline payroll processes.

- Work collaboratively with employees, supervisors, and other departments to resolve payroll matters.

- Maintain confidentiality and integrity when handling employee information.

- Contribute to a safe workplace and comply with all site safety requirements.

About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:





- Previous experience in payroll administration, payroll processing, or a related accounting or administration role.

- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

- Well-developed literacy, numeracy, and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong organisational and time management skills.

- Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

- Experience working with payroll and HR systems (highly regarded).

- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.

- A commitment to safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Current driver's licence. (Desirable)
