About Powerhouse

Powerhouse Museum is located at the intersection of arts, design, science, and technology and plays a critical role in engaging communities with contemporary ideas and issues. It is the custodian of more than half a million objects of national and international significance and is considered one of the finest and most diverse collections in Australia. We are undertaking a landmark $1.3 billion infrastructure renewal program, led by the creation of Powerhouse Parramatta; expanded research and public facilities at Powerhouse Castle Hill; the heritage revitalisation of the iconic Powerhouse Ultimo; and the ongoing operation of Sydney Observatory.

Are you studying cookery, hospitality, food, horticulture or a related area at TAFE?

This is a unique opportunity to gain practical experience as part of the opening of Powerhouse Parramatta, one of Australia’s most significant new cultural institutions.

- gain practical experience in a major new cultural institution

- build confidence working in a qualified kitchen and learning environment

- develop communication and customer service skills

- gain experience working with children, families and diverse communities

- learn about food education, sustainability and community engagement

- work alongside experienced Powerhouse staff

- be part of the opening period of Powerhouse Parramatta

It’s also a chance to add a distinctive experience to your CV while building professional connections and learning how large public programs are delivered.
