What you will do

As a policy officer, you will help improve how people access legal help in Victoria. You will work with the legal assistance team on policy, funding and reform.

You will

- research issues and write clear advice for government
- help develop plans to improve legal assistance services
- prepare briefs, letters and reports for senior staff
- support grant funding and report on how funds are used




- work with others across the justice system on shared projects.

About you

You do not need a specific qualification to apply. A relevant university qualification is highly desirable.

You should also have

- strong writing and research skills to explain policy issues clearly
- valuable organisation skills to manage tasks and support meetings
- an understanding of grants, or the ability to learn how they work
- Excel skills to use formulas, pivot tables and charts.
