SPEAK Communications is an award-winning sports, entertainment and culture PR agency that GETS YOU HEARD. We work with some of the world’s most recognised brands, delivering PR campaigns, launches, partnerships, events and activations that get people talking. We’re looking for a sharp, switched-on and ambitious PR Coordinator / Senior PR Account Executive to join the SPEAK team in Sydney.

The level of this role will be dependent on experience, and we’re open to hearing from candidates across Coordinator, Account Executive and Senior Account Executive level. For us, finding the right person is more important than the title.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves PR, knows what makes a great story and wants to build their career working across big brands, exciting campaigns and plenty of live action. You’ll work closely with our senior team across a portfolio of sport, entertainment, lifestyle and culture clients, getting involved in everything from media relations and campaign launches to events, activations, creators and talent. No two days at SPEAK look quite the same, and we like it that way.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

- Media relations: Build strong relationships with Australian media and get confident picking up the phone, pitching a story and finding the angle that gets cut-through.
- Storytelling and pitching: Develop media angles, write pitches and press releases and help turn client news into stories journalists actually want to cover.
- Writing: Create sharp, engaging copy across press releases, media alerts, briefing documents, pitches, event materials and campaign content.
- Campaigns: Get stuck into the planning and delivery of integrated PR campaigns, launches,



partnerships and cultural moments from idea through to execution.
- Events and activations: Help bring events to life, from media calls and launches through to large-scale brand activations. You’ll be involved in planning, guest lists, media and influencer outreach, logistics and of course, being there on the day.
- Creators and talent: Research and identify relevant creators, athletes, talent and cultural voices who genuinely make sense for our clients and campaigns.
- Keeping your finger on the pulse: Know what’s happening across sport, entertainment, culture, social and the media landscape and bring opportunities and ideas to the team.
- Client and account support: Help keep accounts moving, including WIPs, timelines, media lists, campaign administration and day-to-day client requirements.
- Reporting and results: Track coverage and campaign performance, contribute to wrap reports and help demonstrate the impact of our work.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You don’t need to know everything. But you do need to be hungry to learn, willing to get stuck in and excited about building a career in PR.

Ideally, you’ll have:

- Experience in a PR agency or in-house communications role. We’re open on level and will shape the role around the right candidate and their experience.
- An understanding of the Australian media landscape




- Excellent writing and communication skills
- A genuine interest in sport, entertainment, culture and what’s happening around you
- An understanding of social media, creators and influencer talent
- Strong organisation skills and responsible attention to detail
- The confidence to take initiative and run with things
- A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to jump in when needed
- The ability to work independently while also being a great team player
- A relevant qualification in PR, communications, media or a related field
