About the role:
Seymour College is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Middle/Upper Primary Teacher to join our Junior Years team. This permanent position will teach students in Years 3-6 and offers an opportunity to contribute to a learning environment that supports academic growth, wellbeing and student engagement.
This role commences in Term 1, 2027, with a teaching load of 1.0 FTE.
The successful applicant will
- Deliver engaging and high-quality learning programs across the primary years curriculum.
- Create learning experiences that foster curiosity, critical thinking, creativity and collaboration.
- Plan, assess and report on student learning in line with College expectations.
- Differentiate teaching to support the diverse learning needs, strengths and interests of students.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and productive classroom environment.
- Support student wellbeing through positive and respectful relationships with students and families.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilise contemporary pedagogical practices and technologies to enhance student learning.
- Contribute to co-curricular programs, camps, excursions and the broader life of the College.
Skills And Experiences
About you:
As the successful applicant, you will demonstrate:
- A Bachelor of Education (Primary) or equivalent qualification and current registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.
- Experience teaching middle and/or upper primary students.
- Solid classroom management and communication skills.
- The ability to build positive and productive relationships with students, colleagues and families.
- A collaborative approach and commitment to professional learning and growth.
- A strong understanding of contemporary primary teaching and learning practices.
- Experience integrating technology to support and enhance student learning.
